Introducing world's first Graphene based technology in Aquaculture

Graphene is a wonder material Scientists around the world are exploring its unique applicationsPrepared from Green Sources with Green Method

What is Graphene?

Graphene is an ultra-thin, single-atom sheet of carbon atoms. It is a two-dimensional substance in which carbon atoms are arranged in a hexagonal lattice.

Why Graphene is a superior photocatalytic material?

Graphene offers exceptional properties that enhance photocatalysis, such as:

  • High Electrical Conductivity: Facilitates the separation and transport of photogenerated charge carriers (electrons and holes).

  • Large Surface Area: Provides ample active sites for photocatalytic reactions.

  • Good Light Absorption: Can interact with light, improving the overall light-harvesting capability.

  • Chemical Stability: Makes it durable in harsh photocatalytic environments.

Photocatalysis is a process in which a material absorbs light (typically UV or visible light) and uses that energy to drive chemical reactions, such as breaking down pollutants

How Graphenamm Works?

  • Light Absorption: Graphenamm absorbs UV or visible light to generate electron-hole pairs.

  • Charge Separation: Graphene acts as an electron sink, reducing recombination of photogenerated electrons and holes, which enhances ROS production.

  • Generation of Reactive Oxygen Species (ROS): Photogenerated electrons (e⁻) reduce oxygen to form superoxide radicals (O₂⁻•). Holes (h⁺) oxidize water to form hydroxyl radicals (•OH).

  • Degradation Pathway: Ammonia is oxidized by ROS (Reactive Oxygen Species) into intermediates and ultimately into N₂ or nitrates. H₂S is oxidized by ROS into elemental sulfur (S⁰) or sulfate ions (SO₄²⁻), depending on the reaction conditions.

Due to very low band gap, Graphenamm can absorb wide range of wavelength. It can work perfectly even at dark cloudy condition as well.

Average bandenergy is < 1.5 eV
